International Law Moot Court Society

ILMS

The International Law Moot Court Society of Universitas Indonesia (“ILMS”) is a student organization on the faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia, which specialize in the field of international law studies, particularly International Law moot court competition. The advisor of ILMS is Prof. Hikmahanto Juwana, former dean of the Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia. ILMS activities includes selecting and training students who are interested to participate in international mooting competition; organizing classes and workshop for law in public and private international law; introducing international moot court proceedings to various institutions; and publishing ILMS Chronicles and ILMS Gazette to develop student’s writing skills and knowledge of international law.

ILMS has been sending students to various international mooting competitions held in various nations, namely the Willem C. Vis Arbitration Moot, the Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition, the International Maritime Law Moot Court competition, Foreign Direct Investment Moot Court Competition, International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition and many more.

ILMS has also been sending students to various Mediation and Negotiation competition including but not limited to the International Chamber of Commerce Mediation competition held in Hong Kong and Australia, the International Mediation Singapore Competition and the list goes on.

The goal of ILMS includes the proliferation of mooting, especially in the international format and to facilitates students who are eager to develop their legal advocacy skills. Student who moot will also develop their legal English and critical thinking, skills that is highly valued for legal practitioners.
